AVNirvana.com is a great website run by friendly, accommodating people. I was attracted to the site because of the open and convivial approach to interacting with the Audio/Video hobbyist.
The staff at AVNirvana, made me welcome and published my earliest “Reviews/Ramblings” on their newly created (at the time) “End-User Reviews Forum”. I was privileged to publish the inaugural “End-User Review” in January of 2019. That review on my then new, Rythmik F-18 subwoofers was titled ”Holy Subwoofers Batman!” Check it out HERE!
Fast forward a few months and I was offered the opportunity, by AVNirvana, to write reviews of manufacturer supplied equipment.
Click the button below to be directed to the links for my AVNirvana.com published reviews and more.
All of my “End-User”reviews are echoed here on this website along with rants and raves about cables and other sources of consternation, confusion, and contention among audiophiles, videophiles and AV enthusiasts.
I would also suggest and recommend that you check out the many reviews, articles and industry information written by AVNirvana.com staff and contributors!
This flexible and feature-rich receiver packs so much into its resume that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to detail everything it is capable of within the scope of this review! But, in short, this receiver has you covered with everything up to 11.4 processing (only missing wide ear-level speaker support) and has nine built-in amplifiers to power it all. If you want to make full use of all that processing power, you will have to add two channels of outboard amplification. Add to the mix a plethora of available High-Resolution audio formats, all the surround/3D audio modes you could need, full 8K video support and upconversion, HEOS internal streamer, Audyssey Room Correction, and DIRAC Live available for an additional licensing fee, and you have a very complete and functional receiver in an attractive 30-pound package!
These exciting headphones are the "Swiss Army Knife" of personal audio. They function wirelessly (Bluetooth v5.1), with direct digital connection, and with a nod toward the "Audio Old School," they also function wired using external amplification! Wirelessly, they can interface with your device of choice and can operate as a duplex communications interface using the four built-in microphones. The Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation works with four more microphones to exclude outside noises from your listening session. At the same time, the Ambient Aware Mode can help maintain critical "situational awareness" when necessary. The Fashionistas among us will be happy to note that these attractive headphones range beyond the tediousness of just plain old "Basic Audiophile Black" and are available in Pearl Black, Ice Pewter, and Radiant Red! The headphones' design and feel are robust and precise and should provide years of service.
The Verus III Concert V8T is a beautiful speaker with soft curves and luxurious finishes. The speaker is available in a lustrous, furniture-grade Gloss Cherry natural wood veneer or a Gloss Piano Black Lacquer finish. The driver complement is one 28mm patented Aperion Audio silk dome tweeter, matched with two 5.25” Woven-Kevlar® mid-range drivers in a D’Appolito configuration. Two Woven-Kevlar 8” woofers supply the bottom end in a twin-ported cabinet, and an Aperion custom three-way crossover feeds all drivers. Treble and mid-range are adjustable using jumpers arrayed above the bi-amp/bi-wire capable 5-way binding posts on the speaker’s rear. The drivers are hidden behind a molded plastic, cloth-covered, magnetic grille cover. The tall tower is ably supported by heavy-milled aluminum outriggers that are securely bolted to the bottom of the speaker.
The second from the top of the Aperion Audio Verus III center channel lineup, the Verus III Grand V6C Center Channel Speaker is a perfect match for their Verus III Grand V6T+ Dual 6.5" Tower Speaker. The Verus III V6C is a beautifully built speaker that features furniture-grade Gloss Cherry real-wood veneer or Piano Gloss Black Lacquer finishes in a softly curved sealed cabinet design. A custom three-way 3rd order crossover divides and routes the frequency spectrum to two 6.5" Woven-Kevlar® woofers, one 4" Woven-Kevlar® midrange driver with Aluminum Phase Plug, and one of Aperion Audio's patented 28mm Axially Stabilized Radiator™ (ASR) Silk Dome Tweeter. Also featured is Aperion's VoiceRight™ bass correction technology that tailors the bass performance for placement near a wall/in-a-cabinet or on a speaker stand.
These locking, expanding, and stackable banana plug connectors are manufactured with color-coded polycarbonate shells for quick polarity identification and protection from possible short circuits. The angled body allows for stacking multiple connectors atop each other and lower wire strain. The connectors are milled from solid brass and plated with 24 karat gold. Each connector features two hex-head setscrews that hold the speaker wire firmly in place in the wire barrel to create a solid connection. Integral to the design of these banana plugs is a central spike, driven by the insulated thumbscrew, which spreads the banana plug tines. This action firmly locks the banana plug into 5-way binding posts, banana jacks, and stacked banana plugs for a worry-free connection. The connectors accept up to 8 AWG wires.
The BRX (Bookshelf Reference X) speaker is a beautiful, compact, 2-way bookshelf speaker. The sleekly styled cabinet is luxuriously finished in a hand-rubbed piano black lacquer. The BRX incorporates a 6” cast-basket bass/midrange driver and the tweeter is the GoldenEar Reference High-Gauss High-Velocity Folded Ribbon. The two drivers are perfectly blended with a unique “balanced crossover”. A pair of inertially balanced 6.5” planar infrasonic radiators are located on either side of the cabinet for tight, quick, powerful bass response. The BRX delivers superior reference level performance for both two-channel as well as home theater systems of the highest quality, with extraordinary three-dimensional imaging and high-resolution clarity. Relatively sensitive and should be a good fit for use with smaller receivers/amplifiers. Full Review Here!
The NAD T 778 A/V Receiver is a cool running yet powerful receiver with nine channels of Class D amplification. Flexible analog and digital I/O with internal patching make for easy setup. A large 6 ¼” x 2 ½” color touch display occupies the front panel. BluOS enabled, and Apple AirPlay, ROON Ready, Tidal Connect, and Spotify Connect make the T 778 a very internet-ready/friendly receiver. MQA decoding is also included via the BluOS interface. Video is a true 4K pass-through and is HDMI CEC/eArc compliant. Custom Integration features like IR relay, RS232 Control port, IR inputs/outputs, and assignable triggers make the T 778 very customizable, enabling it to flex into most custom installation integrations. Modular design (MDC) aids in “future-proofing” the lifespan of the receiver.

Have you ever had any issues with HDMI cables falling out when shifting equipment around? Back tension on those big ol’ honking HDMI cables causing them to back out? Think you need a better strain relief for those big heavy HDMI cables hanging off the back of your gear? Well, I have from time to time! In my equipment rack I have always used cross bars and tie wraps to provide strain relief and security for HDMI cables. But even with that, I was left wanting more peace of mind on some of the heavier cables and on the individual components sitting on shelves. Here is a simple, inexpensive device that can help with almost any cable! Check out the review here!
